Assignment Instructions

Your final assignment is where you will weave the elements from a few of your early assignments (research question assignment, literature review assignment, and methods section) together and continue to build upon them. In addition to these early sections you will also need to incorporate your research analysis to create a coherent research paper that is 10-15 pages in length. While it is inappropriate (not to mention a violation of university policy) to cut-and-paste from past assignments in old courses into new ones, this research project is evolutionary and builds itself up from a research idea to a completed product. For this reason, in this class it is permissible to paste the information (as appropriate and as it makes sense) from your early assignments in this course into your final assignment.

Format: Your research paper should include a title page, body, and reference page. Your paper should have 1-inch borders on all four sides, use times new roman-12 point font, be double spaced, and not have an extra space in-between paragraphs. (You may need to turn this off in MS word by going to “paragraph” and clicking “Don’t add space between paragraphs of the same style”). Please use APA parenthetical citation style with a references page.

Your research paper should include the following sections:

Introduction:

Please start with an abstract of between 150-200 words on a page of its own.

The introduction section should be written last and should pull from some of the elements of your week 2 assignment. You will need to clearly provide an overview of the topic you are writing about, a concise synopsis of the issues, state your research question, and discuss why the situation is important to investigate. Writing the introduction last is helpful in ensuring that you’ve incorporated any changes that may have taken place over the course of your research. This section should be 2 pages in length.

Literature Review:

Your literature review section should be a synthesization of the current state of research on this topic. Here you will need to discuss the information that is important to understanding your research paper. If you are still struggling with this section take a look at this video on how to write a literature review from the NCSU Libraries. This section should be 4-6 pages in length.

Methodology:

This section will pull from and enhance your qualitative methodology assignment. Methodology sections are another standard element in research papers as they provide the reader with a clear understanding for how the research was carried out. In this section you should discuss your case study methodology and explain the validity of your approach. In your explanation be sure you explain how you chose the case to investigate, your data collection method, your data analysis (i.e. the questions you asked to help guide your research and thus answer your primary research question), and any potential data limitations and biases that pertain to this specific project. In your discussion of the studies limitations you should keep in mind that its always best to end on a positive note, so be sure you discuss your plan to mitigate the limitations and biases, if any. This section should be 1-3 pages in length.

Analysis and Findings:

This section and the conclusion discussed below are essentially the two newest components of your research project. Your analysis and findings section should provide a narrative of your research and the analytical arguments that you will make as a result of your findings. In this section you will discuss the results of your analysis. Make sure you provide the evidence that proves or disproves your research hypothesis. This section should be 4-5 pages in length.

Conclusion:

This section will contain the concluding analytical arguments based on what the research has revealed. Here you will discuss your policy recommendations for moving forward with the issue.

Like any conclusion, it should provide a synopsis of the project, the strategy, the results, and what the research adds to our body of knowledge. Within your conclusion you should also offer suggestions for avenues of future research for other scholars as all knowledge is evolutionary. This section should be 1-2 pages in length.

References:

This section will contain all of the references that you have cited within your paper. They should be listed in APA Reference format and arranged alphabetically. Entitle this section as “References”, each source notation should be single spaced with one space between each source in hanging format.

At this level your references should fall within the 15-20 sources range and include primarily of peer-reviewed content.

As you proof read your assignment I encourage you to work with Belcher, Wendy Laura. (2009). “Editing Your Sentences” In Writing Your Journal Article in 12 Weeks: A Guide to Academic Publishing Success. Sage. This resource has a nice step by step process for enhancing your writing

Provide a brief critique of the article, identifying the strong elements, and those that were less compelling. Finally, provide your assessment of its utility to you after you have broken it down and understand the argument and the facts that the author used to support his claims. You may write at the bottom of the article itself or provide your answers in a separate document. Your critique should be no longer than a written page.

Please provide a complete citation for the article in APA format.

Oceanography Quizzes

Oceanography Quizzes

Oceanography Quizzes

Hello,
need all the section quizzes and chapter quizzes completed for my Oceanography class.

First off, the quizzes are based off the textbook, “Essentials of Oceanography”, by Alan P. Trujillo and Harold V. Thurman.
The section quizzes are each timed 10 minutes with 10 questions, and allow 2 attempts each. The chapter quizzes are each timed 25 minutes with 25 questions, but, only allow 1 attempt.

The chapter quizzes use the same questions from each of the section quizzes, so keep that in mind to help you. Also I highly prefer an A on each of these assignments.

Perspective narrative paper

Perspective narrative paper

Approximately 400 words that picks a debate within the feminist community and lay out each side’s argument. Divide the assignment into 2 sections—dedicate the 300 words to each side of the argument. You may pick from the following:

  1. Porn: Empowerment or Objectification
  2. Islamic Veiling and Unveiling: Liberating or Oppressive
  3. Beyoncé: Feminist Icon or Anti-feminist
  4. Marriage: Apart of a patriarchal system or right for all
  5. Breast Feeding in Public or Private
  6. A topic of your choice that must get approval by your GA

These topics have not been answered easily by feminists and therefore have created large debates. You must support your arguments by using at least TWO (2) course readings and any outside readings, blogs, et cetera that you find (but MUST cited). In the concluding paragraph, briefly explain which side of the argument you fall more within and why.

summary of strategic public relations plan

summary of strategic public relations plan

Using the first deliverable as a foundation, students will write a 12-page (give or take) summary of their public relations plan.  Plan elements should reflect research findings and/or public relations/communication theory.  Plan elements shall include:

  • The definition of macro-level campaign goal(s): Specify at least one overarching goal for your plan (e.g., “The American Heart Association seeks to educate people about the importance of pro-actively taking care of their heart health.”).  Your goal should be broad without being too broad (e.g., AHA wants everyone to have a healthy heart) while still telegraphing a direction for related communication efforts.
  • The identification of three target publics affected by this situation: Address audiences in strategic terms (e.g., in order of importance to the organization or those most greatly affected by the situation). Provide general demographic descriptions of each audience (e.g., age, sex, race, income levels, education, political affiliations, etc.), assuming this information is relevant to the situation.  The U.S. Census Bureau’s website may be helpful for that.  Also, identify news media habits of audiences and effective channels to communicate with them.  A good place to start would be the Pew Research Center website.  Remember to take into account changing media habits in this country (e.g., decreasing newspaper readership, increasing use of social media).  You can generalize to a certain extent; to wit, one could rightly assume that a reader of The New York Times is more likely to skew left politically than a reader of The New York Post.
  • The articulation of objective(s): Objectives must correspond to your campaign goal and your target public(s).  State objectives in realistic and measurable terms.  For example, don’t just say that you hope to “raise public awareness” about an issue; instead, quantify the amount or percent of change you hope to achieve (e.g., “Raise awareness of issue X among <TARGET PUBLIC> by 25 percent by <DATE>.”).
  • The outlining of strategies for achieving each objective: The strategy is reflective of your overarching goal (so it’s kind of like a goal itself), but it involves the process for how you will go about achieving that goal.  Objectives are mid-term goals that give direction to your strategy.  Also, relate your strategy to your organizational objectives but keep it focused on the self-interests of your audiences. Sample strategies might be “a media relations strategy using paid traditional media,” or “a community outreach strategy using opinion leaders in the community,” or “a government relations strategy using grassroots mobilization,” and so forth.  Of course any of these strategies would require more elaborate explanation, but that’s what this part of your deliverable is for!  This section should include key messages and/or a description of a campaign theme.
  • An explanation of tactics to execute each strategy: Tactics are short-term activities that help achieve objectives by putting your strategies into action.  You must present your ideas for at least three different tactics.  Please read ahead to the guidelines for the Sample Tactical Elements deliverable.  The tactics you submit for that deliverable must match what you discuss here in this deliverable.

Real Estate FInance

Real Estate FInance

  1. A project is expected to generate an annual cash flow of $300,000 before debt service, during each of the first five years of operation. This expectation represents the mean of a probability distribution of possible cash flows, and has a standard deviation of $25,000. What is the maximum percentage of the purchase price which can be financed with a 8 percent, 25-year, fully amortizing monthly payment loan, if the investor insists on a .95 probability that the annual cash flow during the first five years will be sufficient to at least cover the debt service?

Is There a Way To Reduce the Cost of Primary Care?

Is There a Way To Reduce the Cost of Primary Care?

After reading this passage and doing your own research please write a 500 – 600 words (2 pages) of your opinion on the question, that is, “Is There a Way To Reduce the Cost of Primary Care?”

Another way of asking the question is, would one allow themselves or their family member(s) to be treated by an advanced practice nurses who comprised of nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, and nurse midwives.

Article

The shortage of primary care physicians and the increased popularity of managed care, with its emphasis on cutting costs, have provided momentum to those who advocate greater autonomy for nurses in treating patients. By allowing advanced-practice nurses to take over some of the more routine duties now reserved for physicians, the United States could save billions of dollars in medical care costs annually. Advanced-practice nurses, comprised of nurse practitioners, nurse anesthetists, and nurse midwives, usually have two years of clinical training beyond the four-year baccalaureate degree. As such, even without experience, they have more training than first-year residents who provide a great deal of the primary care in the nation’s teaching hospitals.

Legislation dating back to the 1930s restricts nurses in two important ways. First, nurse practitioners do not have prescriptive authority in many states, which means they are unable to write prescriptions unless they are in a collaborative practice with a licensed physician. Second, not all payment sources, including many private insurance companies and the government, recognize nurse practitioners as qualified providers and thus will not directly reimburse them for their services.

Still, more than 100,000 advanced-practice nurses nationwide offer physical exams, immunizations, preventive screening, and treatment for minor illnesses such as ear infection, sore throat, and the flu. Many see nurse practitioners, who offer their services at a 30 to 70 percent cost-saving compared to general practitioners, as a way to lower costs and improve access to primary care in many under-served areas. Critics, however, feel that lowering the barriers to nurse practitioners will only drive more physicians from general practice into the higher-paying specialties and in the long run will do little to lower costs and improve access.

How many of the restrictions on nursing are based on concerns over quality of care and how many are merely a cultural artifact of an era when female nurses assisted male physicians? One thing is certain: As concern over cost cutting grows, the barriers to an expanded role for nurses will gradually disappear. It is simply a matter of time until economics once again promotes a more effective use of scarce resources.

What is your opinion on the above matter?

Emerty and Trist Model – Netflix

Emerty and Trist Model – Netflix

Looking to use the Emery and Trist Model in relation to Netflix.  A descrition of the model and how Netflix relates and how the business model fits is required. Need 2-3 (or more) power point slides showing model and basic talking points to go along with the descrition.  Should be at least a 5 minutes presentation with slides to support.

The analysis in the case presentations and case reports should reflect use of the analytical models and tools we develop in our course readings and class discussions. Each project report will evaluate the business issues pertaining to the subject matter of this course, i.e., Strategic Management, along with its associated strategy implications, developing an information base for a supporting position. Your approach to the corporate case should be analytical rather than merely descriptive. Avoid a long narration of the company’s history.

Will either attach the chapter after project is assigned through photos or will scan in the chapter and model
