The Reaction Paper Assignment

You will be writing a 1,000 word Reaction Paper in this course using the instructions and links found below. You will be completing the following tasks and gathering the following information for your paper:

Watch the epigenetics video from PBS available as a YouTube link in this folder (second item in the folder). Begin your paper by defining epigenetics in your own words and discussing your reaction to the video.

Interview your family members and complete the Family History-Dr. Oz.pdf Click for more options . Find out which disease(s) you are most at risk for.

Research and locate one article on epigenetics and whatever disease you are most at risk for (select a study on research conducted on humans) from a reputable academic source:

Reputable Sources:

journal articles

government publications based on research

Do not use:

magazines of any sort, whether they are on paper or online

Websites of any type, including epigenetics websites

Wikipedia

How to Perform Your Research

Use the College Library in person or online (log in with your new MDC ID number (the one that is all numbers). Your password is the last four digits of that same MDC ID unless you have changed it.

Read the epigenetics article you find. Continue your paper with a discussion of the epigenetics article. Be sure to paraphrase (put things in your own words) and be sure to cite the author(s) of the article you find using APA style (see the section below on using APA style). Aim for about a page for this part of your paper.

Discuss the concept of epigenesis in light of your family history and the article you read. Aim for one page for this section of your paper.

Complete the Living to 100 Questionnaires. Integrate your findings on the questionnaire into your discussion. Aim for another page.

Discuss how you can improve your health and longevity in light of your findings in this questionnaire, your understanding of epigenetics, and your knowledge of your family history. This should be your final page.

You can go over or under a page for any of the sections of the paper as long as your total paper is 1,000 words not counting the references.

General Rules for an “A” Paper (check your paper against this list)

◻ 1,000 words

◻ Original work; plagiarism score of less than 10% (90% original work)

◻ Double-spaced, 12-point font, 1-inch margins

◻ Covers all 6 tasks

◻ Spellchecked

◻ College-level grammar

◻ Cite your article APA style (author & year within body of paper; full reference at end)

◻ No abstract, no cover

◻ Place your name and reference number on the first page. Use page numbers.

Submit the paper by the deadline in the Schedule and also in the Calendar. The box will open at the beginning of the semester so that you have time to submit your paper, review the originality report, and resubmit your paper if necessary until you have a plagiarism score of under 10%. Be sure to use the Turnitin Grammar Checker to ensure that your paper is well written and ensure that you have spellchecked everything. If you resubmit your paper, note that it takes 24 hours for your new score to show up in the Turnitin Drop Box.

Submission to Turnitin Drop Box

The Turnitin Drop Box is in Blackboard. You do NOT have to go to Turnitin to submit your paper. Turnitin is a plagiarism checking software. It checks to see if your work is original. I have set the Turnitin Drop Box so you can submit your paper as many times as you want until the due date. That will allow you to check your plagiarism score and see where your work is not original. You can then rephrase that section and put it into your own words. The expectation in this course is that your paper scores no more than 10% in plagiarism (90% original work). You will be able to resubmit your paper as many times as you need to in order to get it right until the Due Date. You will NOT be able to resubmit after the Due Date. Note that it takes 24 hours to see your new plagiarism score after resubmission. No more than 2 or 3 quotes in the entire paper, please.

Avoiding Plagiarism

You must be careful not to copy someone else’s ideas and not to copy and paste ideas from the sources you find. Copying and pasting from someone else’s work is considered plagiarism. You may use other people’s ideas, but you have to put them in your own words and reference the source. Putting things in your own words is called “paraphrasing.” And you must put the reference right after the idea. Needless to say, submitting plagiarized papers, including those copied from one of the Web sites that have “free” papers or even papers you can buy, will result in a penalty. That penalty in this course is that your grade will be reduced by the percentage of plagiarism over 10%. In other words, the less plagiarism, the higher your score; the more plagiarism, the lower your score. The paper is worth 10% of your grade in this course. Don’t risk it!

APA Style and References

One thing you will need to do in college is learn how to find and use references. References support your ideas. College-level work must be supported by research. You are expected to do that for this paper. You will research, locate, and use one reputable source from the literature on the topic of epigenetics/epigenesis. The “literature” is composed of studies that have been conducted in a scholarly way to support ideas. Scholarly sources can be found in journals or in some Web sites, especially those that come from .edu domains (.edu is short for “educational” Web sites) or .gov domains (.gov are government sites). The College Libraries have dozens of good journals you can use. You will be using the College Library for this paper. You may do the research in person or use the Web to access our library. See your librarian for more information on finding credible sources.

In APA style, you cite a source in two places: within the body of the paper where you use the idea or words of the author of the paper; and again in the Reference List at the end of the paper. For example, you might say, “According to Researcher A (2011)…epigenetics is…” What you must do is supply the researcher’s name within a sentence or at the end of a sentence in parenthesis (Smith, 2011). Then you give the full information for locating the study in the Reference List. That’s what Reference Lists are for: they allow the person reading your paper to look up your source if they want to. So remember, citing references APA style, requires two things: 1) that you cite the reference within the body of the paper, and 2) that you list the full reference at the end in the Reference List.

APA Tutorial

There are multiple tutorials and other training sources on APA style at the APA Web site. You do NOT have to buy the APA Manual to do this paper.

Write a 6-page comparative critical analysis of imperialism, colonialism, and liberty in South and Central America, Africa, and China.

Assigned Readings:

Paterson & Rable, Imperial Surge

Chamberlain, The Scramble for Africa (chapters 1-9)

Hevia, English Lessons (chapters 1, 5, 6, 7, 8, Postscript)

Focus Questions/Topics:

You are not to answer these questions directly, they are provided only to stimulate your thinking on the assignment.

• What conditions at the turn of the century led to colonialism and imperialism?

• What countries led the imperial and colonial movement?

• What motivated the colonizers to colonize?

• What methods did colonizing countries use to impose their will? Did methods differ?

• What was the vehicle/mechanism for imperialism and colonialism?

• How did natives respond to being colonized?

• Was the liberty of those being colonized compromised?

• What was the aftermath of this movement for colonizing/imperial countries?

• What was the aftermath for those being colonized?

• Did the imperial/colonizing era lead to a new world order?

This is a comparative critical analysis of all areas under consideration, so make sure you address all areas, colonizers and colonized, and you use all three sources (and only those three sources). Use 12pt. font (a readable font), one-inch margins, and double-space your paper; citations should be done in the Chicago/Turabian format. Your paper should be a minimum of 6 full pages in length, but feel free to write more. Your paper MUST integrates all areas of the world and all issues, do not focus on just one area or one topic. I will grade your paper on: 1) writing and grammar; 2) organization and content; and 3) the logic and coherence of your analysis. The only sources you are using for this paper are the Paterson & Rable, Chamberlain, and Hevia books, use no other sources.

***This is to be an original paper, separate from the previous three you have written and submitted. Under no circumstances are you to simply copy and paste from your previous papers; doing that (to any degree) will guarantee a 0 grade for this paper.***

Submit a hard copy of your papers to me and an electronic copy to the Assignment dropbox in BlazeView no later than 12:00pm (noon) on April 20, 2018. I do not accept work late. Originality software will be used to check all papers.

Comments:

Lissette,

This draft has many problems with focus and structure:

You have to begin with your name at the top of the required MLA headings.

You must number your pages or you will receive a 5-point deduction on your final Essay 1 draft. If you don’t know how to do this on your document, email me and tell me what type of program you are using (such as Microsoft Word).

Your draft doesn’t actually respond to the question in the essay topic, which was why do happiness and/or meaning matter?

Your draft also doesn’t follow the “Guidelines for How to Structure Your Essay” that were posted in Canvas. For example, it has a question in the place where your thesis should be, and your thesis cannot be a question. Also, as I just said, your thesis has to respond to the actual question in the topic, and yours doesn’t. In order to improve your essay and ensure that you receive at least a passing grade on your final grade for Essay 1, you need to

Review the Powerpoint called “Guidelines for How to Structure Your Essay” in Canvas;

Read the “Important Information for Essay 1” item in Canvas;

Read the handout called “The Structure of a College Essay” that I have attached to the Comments section in Submission Details for your Rough Draft for Essay 1.

Remember also that there are free non-credit classes that you can take along with English 101 to help you with your essay writing skills. See the item in the Week 1 module for the schedules and numbers for these courses. I’m pretty sure that you can still enroll in one of these courses if you want to.

Your introduction paragraph doesn’t follow the guidelines for introducing the names of the authors you have chosen to use in your essay, and the titles of their essays, and the name of the movie you have chosen to use, and the director’s name. You MUST include all this in your introduction paragraph. Then, for the rest of the essay, you don’t use the titles of the article again; you will just use the author’s last name. For the movie, you can refer to it either by its name in the body of the essay or its director’s name, but don’t give both pieces of information every time you discuss the movie because it is not necessary.

Your thesis is missing your main response to the topic question and the ideas of the sources you will be engaging with in your body paragraphs. Revise it so that it includes your “I say” response, your main idea about the topic question that is then developed through your analysis of the articles and film. Remember that it cannot be a question.

So far, you don’t have clear and distinct main points in the topic sentences of your body paragraphs, and your body paragraphs don’t have enough focus on just one main idea. The guidelines say that you should have no more than 3 body paragraphs also.

Don’t forget to include transitions in your topic sentences. College professors expect you to have adequate transitions at the beginning of each body paragraph but not the very basic “first,” “second,” “third” ones that you might have been encouraged to use in high school. In college, you are expected to learn how to use more sophisticated, varied, and graceful transitions. Review Chapter 8 in They Say, I Say for help with this.

The body paragraphs don’t have enough specific details from at least two articles in addition to the movie. Remember that you are trying to “enter the conversation” with the specific authors and filmmakers you have chosen to include in your essay, so the majority of your body paragraphs should be specific details from the articles and movie, along with your analysis of them. One quotation from one article is not nearly enough. You also need to discuss how these authors and filmmakers use the persuasive appeals of logos, ethos, and pathos to present their arguments about the topics.

Your final draft will need to include a Works Cited page.

This draft has some serious problems with focus and structure. Revise with my comments in mind and you can make it better. Please note that I haven’t reviewed it for grammar or punctuation because at this point, I am only looking for those aspects of the essay described on this form.

Insufficient Funds Allocated to Marketing

Just like in many non-profit organizations, most of their projects and plans are always dependent on donor funding. However, many of them do suffer from insufficient funding like in the case of IWMN. As a result, they do not have sufficient funds to market themselves. Besides, currently, the organization has not yet adapted to the current digital trends and as a result, they are not able to reach a wide mass of potential donors. Based on socio-cultural trends, the internet and social media are a vital resource for any organization and this reiterates the need for IWMN to adapt to the digital trend as some of the most successful NGOs. Most of the successful NGOs such as Red Cross and UNICEF have managed to adopt digital trends in their marketing core and through this, they can solicit funds from potential donors across the world. While IWMN is stationed in west Sydney, there is a need for it to look for ways in which they would be able to solicit funds for their marketing.

As mentioned earlier, one way to solve the core problem of insufficient funds allocated to marketing is by partnering with other non-profit organizations with whom they share a similar idea or objectives such as the Multi-Cultural Network(MTN) (Boddewyn & Doh, 2011). MTN is also stationed in West Sydney and somehow they have enough resources that if IMWN can manage to collaborate with them it would be easier for them to market themselves efficiently. First of all, IWMN can come up with a project and indulge in MTN. Through this, both organizations can decide on the most appropriate plan to be used to implement the project as well as a budget. With the project in the pipeline, both organizations can use their networks to solicit funding for the project and as a result, this would put them on the map.

The other way to seek funds is through fundraisers (Toyasaki & Wakolbinger, 2014). The organization can come up with a specific topic that would be used to drive funds for the project, for instance, building houses for the less fortunate. Through such a plan, invitations can be sent to various individuals and organizations that could support the drive. Besides, by collaborating with the municipality(government), it would be easier for the fundraiser to be successful.

While both recommendations are great, the first one is the most appropriate, since, by IWMN collaborating with other fellow NGOs, they will be able to improve their portfolio in terms of branding and networking in their field. As a result, more networks provide continuous funding and support from interested parties. On the other hand, fundraisers are a one-time thing and are only efficient for the short term rather than in the long-term. The organization has to strategize its outlay for the long-term if they are to be viable.

Introduction

As an electronics company that offers a wide range of electronic products to its varied market segments, Noel Leeming employs different strategies including both traditional (offline) and online approaches to promote and market its products and services (Noel Leeming Group Limited, 2019). The varied marketing communication approaches are crucial and attract lots of advantages to the organisation. Unfortunately, the company might not attain a satisfactory outcome by relying on a single marketing strategy while targeting its varied customers.

Existing Gaps and Challenges

Strengths of Noel Leeming company entail its reliance on a wide array of electronic products and related services. Besides, the company has a weakness of relying on a single approach of marketing that comprise online and offline strategies while targeting numerous groups of individuals. Even so, the organization has an opportunity of tailoring and improving its marketing strategies to attract more clients. Finally, the firm is facing a threat of entrance of more electronic competitors. Thus, Noel Leeming has to adjust its sales and marketing strategies to ensure that its online platforms are more effective and efficient. Luckily, the organization has some online tools and techniques, hence it would adjust with more comfort and relative ease.

Selected Target market

Noel Leeming targets youths aged between 17 and 21 years old with an improved online marketing strategy. The organization intends to sell its electronics for entertainment to the teenagers. Fortunately, many teenagers and young adults tend to like using social media and related online platforms (Anderson & Jiang, 2018; Clement, 2018). Accordingly, Noel Leeming will utilize an improved online marketing approach to market and sell its electronics for entertainment. The improved online marketing and digital communication strategy will be tailored to suit the demands and expectations of the youth within New Zealand and beyond.

A New Digital Communication

The goal of the new improved digital communication approach is to increase the number of teenage clients by over 200 percent. Precisely, the organization targets at attracting at least 10 000 youths. Moreover, the firm strives attract youth from New Zealand and other countries across the globe to achieve its target market share. The specific goal will adequately guide the project (Muller, 2017).

Accordingly, the organization endeavors to embrace suitable online strategies that facilitate digital communication with its clients. Even so, the firm would rely on offline tools and techniques to support the online strategies for effective and efficient communication (Filiposka et al., 2017). Appropriate online platforms will facilitate digital marketing communication between the firm and its clients.

Moreover, Noel Leeming will segment its market to facilitate development and execution of appropriate sales and marketing strategies (Venter, Wright & Dibb, 2015). Accordingly, the organization will utilize age as a basis for segmenting its market. Precisely, the firm will be targeting at youths aged between 17 and 21 years. As such, Noel Leeming will design and develop its sales and marketing strategies to suit the selected group.

Consequently, the organization will develop its sales and marketing message to suit the teenagers. Specifically, the firm will endeavor to promote its electronics for entertainment as excellent products for young adults. Besides, Noel Leeming will rely on varied formats including audio, video, print media and text to develop its messages to suit the demands and needs of its clients (Sharma et al., 2017).

Subsequently, the organization will strive to determine and embrace the most suitable digital tools and techniques to communicate with its clients and market its products and services. The firm intends to utilize some of the most effective and efficient online platforms including Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp to communicate with the clientele (Nurture Digital, 2019). The organization will focus online platforms that are preferable to many teenagers to reach a wide number of individuals. Also, the organization will consider online platforms that are relatively cheaper, efficient and effective in communicating with its current and future customers. Moreover, the firm will develop its website to suit the demands of the teenagers to supplement the social media platforms in marketing the electronics for entertainment. Precisely, the firm will improve its website to make it more interactive and attractive to the youths. Still, Noel Leeming will develop its website to ensure ease navigation and accomplishment of applicable processes.

Conversely, the organization will integrate its new digital communication approach into the overall marketing plan to ensure seamless marketing operations with its other market segments. Therefore, the firm will utilize existing online and offline tools and techniques to facilitate the digital communication to gain synergy (Pauwels et al., 2016). Besides, the organization will develop its new digital communication approach to run concurrently with limited or no interference with the current marketing strategies. Also, the firm will significantly reduce the cost of developing and embracing the new digital communication approach by considering the use of existing tools and techniques.

Also, the firm will determine and embrace appropriate tracking metrics for monitoring and controlling the new digital marketing communication approach to ensure it progresses well and delivers the desired outcomes (Kerzner, 2017). Accordingly, the organization will employ metrices that indicate performance of social media and websites. Thus, Noel Leeming will monitor aspects such as audience type, exit pages and average number of followers.

Metrices to measure the performance of the improved digital marketing communications campaign

Further, Noel Leeming will employ appropriate tracking metrics to monitor, measure and control its new digital marketing communication approach through social media platforms (Kar, 2015). Precisely, the firm will use aspects that entail audience type, average tweets, growth of brand followers in its Twitter account. Identification of the type of followers of Noel Leeming is essential in establishing if the firm is achieving its target of attracting the youth. In case the findings show that many of the firm’s audience are teenagers, then the project would have attained its goal. However, it the indicator shows that majority of the audience are not youth, then the firm with take necessary adjustments to attract more teenagers. Also, the organization will determine the number of average tweets from teenagers to determine if the teenagers are interested in its products and services. Moreover, the organization will determine if it is advancing as expected by measuring and monitoring growth of its followers.

Similarly, the firm will track and monitor engagement among its Facebook audiences. The company will strive to determine the attractiveness of the Facebook account to understand if it encourages transactions. Besides, the organization will monitor and measure Facebook referral traffic to understand if other persons are encouraging their colleagues, friends and relatives to purchase its electronics and related services. Still, the firm will monitor and determine the number of page-likes and follows on every Facebook post to know the size of active followers.

Likewise, the organization will monitor value per visits on its website to determine its effectiveness (Krishna et al., 2018). Moreover, the organization will identify exit pages to facilitate necessary adjustments to avoid such undesired events in future. Also, the firm will find and evaluate time that audience spend on its website to determine if it is attractive. When audiences spend limited time on the firm’s website, it could mean that the website is unattractive, thus requiring some adjustments.

Recommendations

Considering findings from the above-discussions, it is advisable for Noel Leeming to develop and adopt the new improved digital marketing communication strategy. The new approach seems to be highly effective in communicating with the teenagers since such a market segment tend to be attracted to interactive websites and social media. Besides, the organization will make minor changes and little extra costs to ensure that the new strategy works since it is designed to work with existing offline tools and integrates with other marketing approaches.

Moreover, the organization should consider careful monitoring and control of the new marketing strategy to ensure it progresses well and delivers the desired outcomes. Accordingly, the firm should employ the most competent and qualified professionals to establish and monitor appropriate tracking matrices for its social media platforms and website.

Conclusion

Noel Leeming would probably increase its sales and remain more competitive in the market by employing an improved digital marketing communication strategy. Besides, the organization will integrate the new improved marketing strategy with the existing marketing approaches to ensure more effectiveness and avoid interference with other marketing approaches. A proper blend of suitable online and offline sales and marketing communication tools and channels have a synergy to educate, persuade and convince the target clients to embrace the products and services on promotion. Accordingly, the organisation would properly develop and design its adverts to ensure that they are highly-appealing to the youth, present all the essential details about the entertainment products and services, and remains more persuading and convincing to the young adults. Besides, the adverts would be flexible enough to be distributed using different media including both offline and online platforms. Still, the adverts would embrace varied formats including words, audios, videos and images to remain effective when communicating with diversified clients including the deaf and the blind. Additionally, the organisation would establish and manage client databases to facilitate quick generation of contacts and addresses when required for communication. Also, Noel Leeming would strive to embrace environmentally-friendly practices to promote sustainability and gain more reputation as a responsible firm. Finally, the organization will carefully monitor and control the new digital marketing communication to ensure that it progresses as planned and deliver the desired results.

According to Pascual et al., 2019, it is estimated that we are losing 17.8 million forest acres yearly, which is equal to 27 soccer pitches each minute. Pascual et al., 2019 assert that deforestation may be in numerous ways, comprising fires, unmanageable logging, climate degradation, and clearing for ranching, agriculture, and growth. Forest assist in eradicating carbon dioxide and numerous greenhouse gas releases; it becomes an issue when the forests are degraded” (Silva, 2021). The Forest Management reported that over millions of forest acres all over the world are vanishing and also degraded each year.

Structure

A Doll House is a three-act play that was developed by Ibsen with a detailed focus on the 19th century. This may have been the time of Ibsen’s existence, but the play expresses magnificent literary supremacy. Masculine dominance is portrayed in the play in a characteristic of the previous millenniums. In an instance, Nora Helmer, who could not sign a legal document alone considering that she is a woman, had to forge her father’s signs so to get funds for the restoration of her husband’s health. This exposition unfolds into a storyline that starts when Nora and husband, Torvald, both leave for a locality with a warmer climate in the restoration of Torvald’s health.

This kind of development is superfluous and sequential and so makes the structure of the play to be linear. That so becomes eminent as complications arise that threaten to compromise Nora’s situation. Essentially, that is a build up upon the previous revelations that Nora made to her friend Linde. The resurfacing of Nils Krogstad, Nora’s Debtor, creates a twist and spoils what had otherwise been planned by Nora to be a perfect getaway. It is at the instance that she learns forgery is a criminal offense, and yet Nils exploits the situation and blackmails her into paying her debt by threatening to reveal incriminating acts.

There is clarity that the play follows a precept that is easy to follow as every act directly links to the next. Accordingly, every act is a build up upon the previous and a foundation for the next. In essence, reading the play feels like following the real life events that are nearly self-explanatory. For instance, in the final acts of the play, Nora and Krogstad both manage to get over their differences, and they end up in a formal relationship (Ibsen, Act II, pg 27). Even as Nora decides to tell her husband, there is the connection that associates the third act with the previous.

Themes

In the first instance, there is a sacrificial duty held by women. Ibsen managed to portray the sacrifices that women make as they seek to satisfy the demands of their families and to the extreme, even the society. This was a factor that was not unusual in the 19th century as marriages and sometimes work became the key subjects of the kind of influence that a woman would have. The most clearly projected instances include the situation in which Linde as compelled to break up with her true love, Krogstad, as she had to get married to a richer guy. That is a move that was pulled in a bid to support Linde’s parent and brothers. In another instance, Nora had to leave her children under the care of a nanny (Ibsen, Act III, pg 45).

The second theme is the deception that appearances may project. The characters’ true selves are hidden behind appearances that create false impressions and sire wrong beliefs to the actual identity, ability and personality of the people. At the preliminary stages in Act I, it would be easy to believe that Nora is shy and silly and has a weak personality. However, as the play progresses, Nora matures as an emotionally strong character who is also intelligent. Torvald is also the other character who is strong and loving at the beginning of the play. He, however, he later turns out to be selfish and cowardly.

The last theme is the filial and parental responsibilities and obligations that is sired in the characters who express the belief that parents should exhibit responsibility, love, and care toward their children. Torvald even expresses the idea to Nora as he states that the morality of every personality is subject to the kind of parental care that children get at the tender ages (Ibsen, Act I, pg 18).

Characterization

Nora Helmer, as one of the major characters, kick starts the play and is projected as a loving personality as she responds to her husband’s demands. Essentially, silly, becomes a label with which she is associated as she is referred to as such by her husband, Torvald. Nora is the kind of character who matures with the story line and sheds the silly tag as she proves intelligent and strong. In the final act when Torvald makes a selfish reaction to Nora’s revelation, she discovers that she has been leading a life contradicts her personality. However, this a characteristic that was noticeable at the preliminary stages of the play, especially when she ate the macaroons and lied to Torvald about it. She finally left Torvald (Ibsen, Act III, pg 45).

Torvald Helmer is the other key character who plays as Nora’s husband. This is a character whose personality is blown with the development of the play. Initially, he gets projected a loving, strong and caring husband. However, his reactions to Krogstad’s threats and Nora’s revelations prove that he is a selfish coward. He is also projected a character who is very much aware of the perceptions held by the society. This gets projected when he refuses to keep Krogstad in the office for fear of the thoughts of the members of the community. Accordingly, he is the kind of man who feels that the society should outstandingly respect him. This aspect even drives him to make Nora to stay in the house as he sought to keep a positive image of his family (Ibsen, Act III, pg 42).

Uses of an expansion card

Computers have evolved as the most useful human invention in modern day world. There are more advancements being invented in the computer technology, such as expansion cards, to improve the ability of computers to perform more functions. An expansion card is an electronic circuit that is added to expansion slots on a motherboard to aid a computer perform more functions. They are keyed which means that they are designed specifically for This paper thus seeks to identify the types of expansion cards and their functionality as far as computers are concerned.

With the continuous inventions, there are different types of expansion boards that have been designed for to enhance different capabilities. Some of the most commonly used expansion cards include; modems, graphics/video cards, network cards, television cards, host adaptor and post cards. Modem cards are basically used to modulate analogue carrier signal to decode digital information as well as demodulate the information to reveal the transmitted information. Video/ graphics cards are expansion circuits that aid a computer in generating a supply of output images to a display. The advantage of this is they provide an accelerated rendering of 3 dimensional scenes and 2 dimensional graphics. The cards assist in the improvement of display on a computer to produce enhanced display and animated features (Dean & Tamara, 240). Another important expansion card is the sound card. This circuit device aids in improving the input and output signals o and from a computer under a control of a computer program. Network cards are used to enable the interconnection of several computers. This is aided by the use of a network card which enables setting and maintaining of a local area network (LAN) for a group of computers(Morley & Charles, 69). These expansion cards are generally used to enhance certain capabilities in a computer depending on the use.

As pointed above, there are different functionalities for the different expansion cards. Different professions would use different cards because of the uniqueness of the profession. Designers are poised to use auto cards to draw and design. On the other hand, for information technology students can find network cards and modems useful not only in the course of study but also in their profession. This is because the expansion cards would enable them access information from the internet as well as the need to use more than one computer.
