The first thing that you might notice when you enter the dorm room is the large stash of water bottles in the corner. At the last dorm I stayed in, I had a literal open door policy – anyone could come in and chat, but most people came for the water bottles, so I feel obligated to leave them out.
As a recovering introvert who once refused to look people in the eyes, I?d love to talk. I?m a great listener – I haven?t met a single person yet whose stories didn?t interest me. But I?m not afraid to speak my mind either; I hope you won?t mind having a few debates here and there.
If you don?t feel like talking, how about a game of chess? I love playing blitz and lightning, matches that last only around one to six minutes long. It?s fun because the adrenaline from thinking of several different moves at once is exhilarating, but it?s funny because everyone makes mistakes, but we?re okay with that.
One of my previous roommates introduced me to my favorite movie of all time and I have no doubt that you?ll do something similar. That previous roommate however, also liked to blast rap music 24/7. Know that I?ll be fine with our differences – in fact, I?ll appreciate them – but I can?t guarantee I won?t troll you over them once in a while. I truly hope we?ll become great friends over the next few years.
