How sustainable would you consider its competitive advantage as being relative to the kinds of advantages typically pursued by other apparel retailers? [This question is worth 20%] Was Galicia/Spain fertile ground for the emergence of an apparel retailing powerhouse? Discuss in light of Porter’s Diamond. [Worth 20%] How well does Zara’s advantage travel globally? [Worth 20%] What do you think of Zara’s past international strategy? Evaluate, in particular, its past strategy for: (product) market selection its mode of entry, and its standardization of marketing approach. [Worth 40%] Your case submission will be evaluated based on your analysis, clarity of writing, organization of thoughts, completeness, and grammatical correctness (see the Case Analysis Rubric file for specific information). When appropriate, you should support your answers with direct facts or examples from the case, drawing on concepts you learned in the textbook and/or from class discussion. You may use heading/subheading/bullet points to organize your thoughts in favor of your answers. But, make sure you explain them well, as opposed to just listing the bullets. The page range is 4 pages (excluding any figure/title page/bibliography). Do explain your arguments, but do so in a succinct manner.
