IT Capstone II 5.2

You are ready to finalize your Key Assignment project. The Key Assignment is an implemented and tested IT network system application project. All plans, reports, and documentation will be compiled into the Key Assignment and submitted for grading.

Group Discussion: Project Closure Meeting

As a group, hold a project postmortem meeting. Reflect on the experience of implementing and testing this project. Summarize your discussion in a project closure report and, at a minimum, address the following:

• What is the final status of the project? Is it ready for delivery?
• What went right?
• What went wrong?
• What steps did you take to mitigate risks and issues that surfaced?
• Were the project outcomes better than expected?
• Was the project completed on time? If not, why not?
• What lessons did you learn that you can carry with you into future projects?

Part 1 Task: Project Plan

Prepare your project plan for submission. Your project was created in the previous weeks and included the following sections:

• Section 1: Overview of the project (Week 1)
• Section 2: Requirements (Week 1)
• Section 3: Design (Week 1)
• Section 4: System development methodology (Week 1)
• Section 5: Work Breakdown Structure (Week 1)
• Section 6: Communication plan (Week 1)
• Section 7: Quality assurance plan (Week 2)
• Section 8: Documentation plan (Week 3)
• Section 9: Quality assurance and results of test case execution (Week 4)

Submit your finalized project plan.

Part 2 Task: User Documentation

Using the feedback that you have received, update your 3 items of user documentation. Submit 3 user documents.

Part 3 Task: Quality Management Report

You will update your quality management report with the final status of the project development. In the previous phase, you documented the results from at least 10 test cases. If additional testing was conducted, please add these to your report. Your quality management report should have at least 10 test cases.

Part 4 Task: Project Closure Report

This week, you finished implementation of your project and conducted project closure activities. You conducted a postmortem meeting in your group discussion. Capture the lessons learned and a summary of your project closure meeting in a project closure report. Feel free to use a project closure report template that you find through research.
