Final Portfolio Instructions
Your final portfolio is your cumulative project for this class. It should reflect the content of the course and demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Office Business Applications. Your work will be guided by your approved portfolio proposal (Word Project 2).
Please submit each of the following:
? Your portfolio proposal (Word Project 2) – if you made changes to your portfolio, include these changes.
? Your Word document as described in your portfolio
? Your Excel document as described in your portfolio
? Your Access Database as described in your portfolio
? Your PowerPoint as described in your portfolio
? A brief explanation of how you fulfilled the requirements listed below – these should be organized by application (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
You should have a total of six attachments to submit via blackboard.
Because each portfolio will differ, you need to consider how to integrate learning from the class into your project. Your project should contain the following:
? A Word document that demonstrates the skills you learned in class. This includes: table setup and formatting, themes, text effects, use of clip art, WordArt, SmartArt and other graphics, use of headers and footers if appropriate, labels, symbols, paragraph formatting, table of contents (would be great to include with your portfolio or explanation), page orientation, columns, styles, artistic effects, picture wrapping, borders, styles and color scheme. Be sure to include these elements as appropriate to your project and provide an explanation of what you did.
? An Excel project that demonstrates the skills you learned in class. This includes: Worksheet setup and formatting, sheet tabs, themes, copying formulas, AutoFill, absolute and relative values, “what-if” questions, sparklines, AutoSum, formulas, formatting, border lines, problem solving, sheet references in formulas, conditional formatting, adjusting row height, width and margins, themes, text orientation, what-if analysis, data refresh, charts, best, current and worst case scenario using Scenario manager, column chart, custom headers, lookup table, functions, sort and filter, pie chart, pivot tables, column charts, bar chart, subtotals function. Be sure to include these elements as appropriate to your project and provide an explanation of what you did. You must include at least one function, one formula and two charts/graphs as appropriate to your project. Be sure to include these elements as appropriate to your project (the bold section is required) and provide an explanation of what you did.
? An Access project that demonstrates the skills you learned in class. These include: Data types, Referential integrity and relationship building, forms, reports, queries, Group & Sort, Report formatting, Field formatting. Important: you must include a minimum of two tables, they must
set up in a relationship diagram that properly illustrates their relationship and you must use referential integrity. You need to include a minimum of ten records that illustrate your query function. You need to have at least two of the following: tables, forms, queries, and reports. Be sure to include these elements as appropriate to your project (the bold section is required) and provide an explanation of what you did.
? A PowerPoint project that demonstrates the skills you learned in class. These include: Customizing a theme, background styles, editing shapes, rotation, ClipArt, SmartArt, animation, use of a table, modifying art or graphics, color and effect selection and planning. Be sure to include these elements as appropriate to your project and provide an explanation of what you did, also, provide information about your presentation such as your audience, setting, etc . . .
? Finally, provide a minimum of two integrations between your projects.
