Over the years, the society that has always been majorly affected by this health hazards is the poor society. In this paper am going to discuss the effects of health hazards towards the environment.
There has been a lot of discomfort in the environment and that has always affected the air we breathe. Such has been the blame on the industry which tends to produce toxic but harmful substances. Majorly coal pollution has been a major threat to citizens. The production of these substances to the environment has always led to early or premature deaths in the environment thus shortening life expectancy. Press release
Much has always been discussed about the importance of life and therefore measures have always been put in place to curb the problem. But as we try to prevent these industrial toxic substances from affecting us in the environment, there has been still discomfort in some areas. People are often seen dying due to consumption of these toxic substances that affect their lives. The government needs to protect its Citizens from these sufferings so that the people can live decently and happily. The government can do this by regulating such industries that produce toxic but harmful substances. The government should also be at watchdog to check the type of raw materials these industries use so as to avoid any harmful chemical substances that might affect human beings from all diversities as a result of poor or unhealthy raw materials. The citizens should also be alert on any fumes being produced in the air as these may even lead to suffocation whenever they are always out doing some kind of businesses. The government has however tried its level best to reach its citizens concerning the importance and the nature of the industries. The citizens, therefore, need to create awareness to their fellows in remote areas to ensure everyone gets the message so as not to be affected by activities of the industries.
****Professor recommendation:
For some reason the markup tools aren’t working on your paper. I think you could rewrite your first two sentences to combine them and make them one sentence. Instead of saying poor society maybe you could say low income community. You did a good job summarizing the report, but I think you could add more information from the report to support your statements. Is the second half your letter to the editor? You didn’t use I anywhere so I’m confused about who’s perspective this was written from. For your next draft, I’d like you to clarify the first paragraph and rewrite the second paragraph so it is more like a letter from the editor.
Summary and Strong Response
For this assignment, you will summarize the NAACP press release (pages 189-190 in A&B).
Then you will write a letter to the editor in response to the press release. It is not necessary to
respond to every point in the entire press release—and probably not possible. You may
respond to only one point if you wish.
NOTE: Since this is a personal response, you may use “I” in your writing.
QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT ASK YOURSELF: Why does the press release use numbers in the way it does?
Why does the press release use certain phrases and terms? This assignment has two parts: a summary of the article and a strong response. To get full
credit for this assignment, you must do three things:
1. Summarize the press release in 150-175 words. Be sure you present the thesis and the
major supporting points.
2. Write a response to the press release in 200-250 words. In your response, you may
agree with one or two points, but you must also show how you “resist” the text by
questioning it, or arguing with it or refuting it. It may be helpful to think of your response
as a reaction to how the writer was trying to influence your thinking. Pay attention to the
words used to name and describe, the details included, and any comparisons made.
(The letter-to-the-editor format assumes readers have read the article, so you do not
need to summarize it in the letter.)
3. Correctly use attributive tags in your response to indicate which ideas came from the
press release and which are your own.
