This assignment requires students to select any two cosmetic companies in a manufactured industry and then conduct a comprehensive research of the industry, the macro environment, and the two companies. It will give students an opportunity to conduct a strategic analysis of the two companies and their external environments, draw a comparison, and make recommendations for the future. This is a comprehensive project, and students are expected to work on it offline through the progression of the course. Students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge in conducting a comprehensive analysis of two companies starting with their mission statements, followed by their strategies and business models, some of their operational features, and their relative strengths and weaknesses, leading to recommendations for the future. The analysis will require a study of their external (industry and macro) environments that influence their business.
